Information for Year 11 and 12 Students and Parents

The following arrangements apply where staff and students are in good health and able to participate in online learning and teaching. In general, our Learning@Home model will be flexible, but we acknowledge that setting up routines as soon as possible, is the best way to start the academic year.

Online classes for all students in Year 11 and 12, will run as per the student timetable for the week of 31/1 – 4/2 inclusive. These classes will be accessed via TEAMS.

Expectations of Students:

Set yourself up in an appropriate learning space with computer and internet access.
Be ready to learn at the start of each day at 8:45.
Between 8:45 and 9am, students should be checking messages in their emails and Compass. Curriculum lessons start at 9am.
Note: Thursday timetable starts with Lesson 1 at 8:45.
Check in with Period 1 Teacher between 8.45 and 9.00. Teachers will complete roll marking in the first 10 minutes of the lesson. Your P1 curriculum teachers will be responsible for monitoring your attendance.
Your teacher will send you an invite to a Teams lesson.
Connect to your class via Teams at the beginning of each timetabled lesson. Your teacher will provide you with instructions for the lesson via TEAMS which may include the use of chats, online meetings, or OneNote. Each lesson will run for the standard 70 mins.
CCT and CCF lessons will not be running for the week. Instead use this time to check emails, prepare assessment calendars and set yourself up for a successful year.
Dedicate appropriate time in addition to the lesson time, to consolidate your learning by studying, sending questions to your teacher, and completing any homework tasks.
Contact your teacher or the HOD (Heads of Department) if you are having any issues with connecting with your program or if you need your password reset.
Contact Senior Schooling if you believe there are errors with your timetable.

Parent Support:

Ensure students have access to an appropriate learning space including computer and internet access
Support students to engage with their online classes and to stick to the standard school timetable, including break times.
Communicate with school staff, should you have any questions or concerns.

Expectations of Teachers:

Use TEAMS as the platform for your lessons. This includes video class meetings, chats, and OneNote.
Prepare 3 x 70 mins lessons for the week and run these during the timetabled class times
Actively engage with your class during each timetabled lesson via TEAMS. You do not have to spend the entire 70mins as video meetings, but this may be an effective way to start each lesson. The priority is for students to begin their learning, establish routines and make connections with you and the curriculum.
Mark your Compass roll and email Rebecca Rossow regarding any students who are not logging in.
Contact students/carers who are not logging in to check if the issue can be easily resolved. Direct them to
contact as per the table below for any issues you cannot resolve.
If you are too ill to interact with online lessons, contact the absence line and your HOD so that alternative arrangements can be made.

I have forgotten my password, how do I get it reset ?

If you have access to your school email you can email any of your teachers and they are able to reset it for you.
Contact the school office and request a password reset.

I can't find the OneNote for my class, how do I access it ?

If you have used the OneNote for this class before you can usually find it under the Shared with Me tab on Onenote.com. Use your school email address and password to sign in.
Contact your class teacher and ask them to add you to the notebook again. You should receive a new access link to your school email within 24 hours.

I don't have Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel or OneNote, can I install it on my computer at home ?

All state school staff and students can download multiple free copies of the Microsoft Office 2016 suite to their personal home and mobile computer equipment. Follow the instructions in this guide to install and activate Office on your device - Install Microsoft Office 2016 (PDF, 765KB)
