Assessment is the deliberate collection of evidence to make judgement on student progress in their course of study.

  • It can be informal or formal.  Formal assessment being used to award results.
  • It helps students progress in their learning by giving them feedback to inform their next steps in learning
  • It helps teachers refine their pedagogy by providing information on what students know and can do

To support our school community to interact with all assessment with success and integrity, we have policies and procedures in place which apply in both the Junior and Senior Phase of learning.

Responsibilities and requirements of students, parent/carers and the school are outlined in the PRSHS Assessment Policy.

Assessment tasks and dates are outlined in the Assessment Schedules; and the application forms for students who have difficulty in meeting an assessment deadline due to a situation beyond their control, are attached.  There is one for Junior (Yr 7, 8 and 9) and a separate one for Senior (Yr 10, 11 and 12) and they are called the Illness and Misadventure Application Forms.  The instructions for using these are outlined in the PRSHS Assessment Policy, and also explained on the top of the application forms.
