The Australian Curriculum: Languages is designed to enable all students to engage in learning a language in addition to English. The key concepts of language, culture and learning, as described in the Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Languages, underpin the learning area.
Learning a second language enhances cognitive skills, improves academic performance, and fosters cultural awareness. It provides a competitive edge in the job market, broadens career opportunities, and boosts personal confidence.
What will students learn?
In year 7 and 8, students choose between Japanese or German.
In year 9 and 10, Languages is an elective subject. We currently offer Japanese in years 7-12.
