FlexiSpace
FlexiSpace is offered to students in year 8 currently experiencing challenges to school engagement, including:
- Absences (whole school days or multiple lessons)
- Social / emotional barriers
- Academic barriers
The program is designed to empower students by:
- Connecting them with the school community through a sense of belonging
- Re-engaging them in classroom learning
- Learning self-regulation skills to manage conflict and the unfamiliar
- Improving academic outcomes
In FlexiSpace, students are:
- Taught a differentiated version of the Australian curriculum.
- Taught through the PRSHS Instructional Model, scaffolding learning and gradually releasing responsibility to ensure confidence and mastery
- Taught in small-group settings of 10-12 students
- Guided to create a personalised success plan with their teacher and family
- Supported to follow through with their success plan, with the intention of transitioning back into mainstream and full-time schooling.
