Parents commit to a payment plan between July and October for the start of school in the following year. The school purchases the device on the parents’ behalf, and parents pay for the laptop, including GST and an annual ICT Support Plan.
The school sets up, deploys, and supports the laptop with all required software and management. The laptop works immediately on the school network for all students and classes.
At the end of the three-year lifecycle, or when a student leaves the school, parents can purchase the laptop for a nominal fee. The laptop will be restored to factory settings prior to leaving.
New students arriving during the year have the option to join the scheme. Families who need to replace an existing laptop due to failure or damage are also invited to join the scheme earlier.
