Interschool Sport at Pine Rivers State High School is available for our Junior Secondary students (Years 7, 8, 9). It provides students with an opportunity to not only represent the school in sporting competition, but achieve a healthy lifestyle through physical activity.
Sport is played from Term 1 to 3. In Terms 1 and 2, the Summer season takes place, while in Term 3, the Winter Season occurs.
The following sports are available:
Summer
Year 7 – Girls Netball, Boys Rugby League, Boys and Girls Futsal and Boys and Girls Touch Football.
Year 8 and 9 – Boys Rugby League, Boys and Girls Futsal, Boys and Girls Touch Football, Boys and Girls Volleyball and Boys and Girls Basketball.
Winter
Year 7 – Girls Netball, Boys Rugby League, Boys and Girls Futsal, Boys and Girls League Tag, Boys and Girls Ultimate Disc.
Year 8 and 9 – Boys Rugby League, Girls Netball, Boys Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Boys and Girls Football, Boys and Girls League Tag.
Students will nominate to trial for a sport of their choosing prior to the commencement of the season. If students fail to make a squad for a sport they will be required to complete the school’s highly regarded specialised literacy and numeracy program. Also, any students with outstanding school fees will not be allowed to trial.
