From "Pine River State High School Silver Jubilee 1964 - 1989"

1964 Pine Rivers District State High School opens with 250 Grade 8 and 9 students.
1st Principal Mr. W. L. Kemp is appointed.
Construction begins on C and D blocks.
The school is officially opened on the 10th October by the Hon. D. E. Nicholson MLA
1965 First school swimming carnival is held.
Senior cricket become Zone Premiers.
1966 2nd Principal Mr. W. L. Goosens is appointed.
1st Deputy Principal Mr. C. J. McRobbie is appointed.
1967 3rd Principal Mr. J. H. Bowen is appointed.
School oval is opened.
The first group of Year 12 Student graduate.
1968 First school vacation tour - North and West Queensland.
Zone Athletic Champions
1969 First interstate school tour - Snowy Mountains.
1970 Zone Swimming Champions.
Sport and Cultural exchange with Wattle Park High School Victoria.
1971 First Senior Dinner Dance held.
1972 Radford system introduced.
Zone Swimming Champions
1973 Senior system introduced to replace the Prefect system.
1974 School commences one week late in January due to floods.
Year 8 camps at Witta established.
1975 School Library officially opened on 26th November.
First overseas school tour - Noumea
New Art Block completed.
1976 4th Principal Mr. G. J. Sprott is appointed.
Swimming Pool opened.
Year 8 Public Speaking inaugurated.
1977 School enrolment exceeds 1,600. Over 100 teaching staff.
First school musical - "The Boyfriend"
The Year 8 Centre opens for classes. (J Block)
1978 Administration Block opens.
'District' is removed from the school's name. It becomes Pine Rivers State High School.
Official entry to the school relocated to Ash Crt.
1979 Work Experience Program commences.
K Block (Art) built
1980 Metropolitan Premierships in Boy A Cricket and Girls A Tennis.
1981 F Block fire destroys the Phys. Ed. Dept.
Metropolitan Premierships in Boys U15 Rugby League and Girls A Tennis.
1982 Assembly Hall completed.
1983 Assembly Hall officially opened on 14th May.
Zone Swimming Champions and Metropolitan Premiership in Boys A Soccer.
1984 Assembly Hall burned down and rebuilt.
Metropolitan Premiership in Boys Year 9 Soccer.
1985 ROSBA introduced.
Metropolitan Premierships in Boys Year 8 &9 Soccer, Boys A & B Cricket, Boys & Girls Water Polo, U15 Girls Basketball.
PREP introduced - Pine Rivers Enrichment Program.
School's 21st Birthday - Funtasia Celebrations.
1986 School Musical - "Wizard of Oz"
Music Block Opens
"Pine Times" wins a Courier Mail Newspaper award.
1987 Pine Rivers Indoor Soccer team wins Qld Championships.
Metropolitan Premierships in Girls  Water Polo, Boys A Soccer, U15 Girls Basketball.
1988 Bicentennial Open Day and carnival.
School Musical - "The Sentimental Bloke"
School band play at the opening of Expo '88.
Premierships in Cricket, Girls & Boys Water Polo, Netball and Softball.
Electronic Learning Centre Project inaugurated.
1989 School's Silver Jubilee Celebrations.
